The Tor network has launched the beta version of their first anonymous chat tool Tor Messenger last week. The messenger encrypts the data being send and received,and makes less chance for the eavesdropper to identify the person sending them.

Being a cross-platform chat program, it supports different networks including Jabber(XMPP), Facebook chat, Google, Twitter, Yahoo and more.

The messenger provides much privacy than any messenger does, and all your interactions in an easy to use graphical interface. 

Furthermore, the Tor Messenger encrypts messages by integrating the OTR( Off the Record), and routing them over the tor network, the same mechanism that the tor browser uses.
