How To Capture Screenshot On Android Phones

Capturing screenshots is of course helpful in many situations whether it is on mobile or computer. You might occasionally use this screenshots for sharing the information with others or using it for future references. On Computers you are familiar with the key strokes which takes the screen of your computer, but what about your android phone, do you know how could it possible? Well, phones running with latest android OS allows to capture the screenshot without root and any third party apps. The steps for how to make this possible is described below.

How To Capture Screenshot on Android phones

Capturing process become very easy if you have phones running android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich or above. When you are with a screen ready to capture, press and hold the Home button and Volume Down key together for a second. This will take the screenshot of your current window and will be saved to your Gallery. Check the notification area after taking screenshots, then you will get a preview of it to indicate that screenshot has been taken.

However Smartphones with Android 2.3 or below does not have such a built in feature. This require some third party apps like 'No Root Screenshot It' to capture. Install it on your mobile phone and computer as well. After every restarts of your android phone you need to connect it to computer in order to avail the screenshot feature in your phone.

Note that some Samsung phones including Galaxy S3 and S4 has the inbuilt short-key feature like in the new Android versions for catching screens. The procedure is very similar to the previous which is just discussed before, only difference is we have to press Power Button instead of Volume Down Key. Keep in mind that you should press both button (Home and Power)  at the same time to get it worked.

  2. well, i don't know whether it's possible with all android 2.3 devices........but my phone xperia ray has indeed got this option. In my phone's perspective, screenshot is captured by pressing and holding the lock key followed by the selection of the 'Take screenshot' option
